Tour Description

Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley are two of the most popular tourist destinations in Peru. Let’s explore both!
Sacred Valley:
The Sacred Valley of the Incas, also known as the Urubamba Valley, is a region in the Andean highlands near Cusco, Peru. It extends from Pisac to Ollantaytambo and is characterized by its impressive natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. The valley was of great importance to the Incas due to its fertile land, strategic location, and access to important resources.

The Sacred Valley is also a popular starting point for the Inca Trail, a multi-day trek that leads to Machu Picchu. Many visitors choose to spend a few days in the Sacred Valley before heading to Machu Picchu, as it allows them to acclimatize to the altitude and explore the surrounding beauty.

Macchu Picchu:
Machu Picchu is an ancient Inca city located high in the Andes mountains in southern Peru. It is often referred to as the “Lost City of the Incas” and is one of the most iconic archaeological sites in the world. Built in the 15th century, Machu Picchu was abandoned and remained hidden from the outside world until its rediscovery in 1911.

Visiting Machu Picchu is an extraordinary experience, as you can witness the incredible architecture, the impressive mountain landscapes and the mystical atmosphere of the site. The most popular way to get to Machu Picchu is by taking a train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes, a small town located at the base of the mountain. From there you can walk to Machu Picchu or take a shuttle bus.

Overall, a trip to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Peru’s ancient history and natural splendor. Whether you’re interested in archaeology, hiking, or simply enjoying breathtaking scenery, these destinations offer an unforgettable experience.

In our two day service of Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley, we combine the most special Incan ruins the surrounding area has to offer. You will enjoy unparalleled landscape of the Peruvian Andes throughout your journey and get a true taste of the local culture.

Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley are a must see when visiting Cusco. With our expert guide by your side you will learn all about the landscape, Incan history, and why the area is so important. The tour starts by exploring the Sacred Valley while enjoying the Pisac and Ollantaytambo ruins along with Chinchero textile market, combining a beautiful train ride through the cloud forest which surrounds Machu Picchu. Upon arrival to Aguas Calientes, you will check into your comfortable hotel and have the evening to explore the area. The next day we wake up extra early to enjoy Machu Picchu at sunrise while your guide gives you a detailed tour of the ruins. After the tour, you and your guide part ways and you will have free time to soak in the powerful views or take a hike to the beautiful Huayna Picchu (additional entrance fee). In the late afternoon you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where you will transfer to a van and depart back to Cusco.
